Disappoitment (warmth and fabric)

I feel very cold in temperature below 0 (eg. -2). Also the fabric/stripes on figers went off after a few rides (especially on fingers touching Garmin, but generally whole palm area🙁 Submitted on  13 February 2021  by  Petr Janovsky

Not for sub-zero C days

This is one of the few Castelli products that hasn't lived up to my expectations. I bought this glove for really cold days -- ie freezing and down to say -5C. I find them fine above freezing but not below. I have added some Merino wool liners, which helps. On the plus side, they are flexible and give lots of freedom for braking and shifting. They have good grip and are nicely styled. I have taken to wearing them off the bike, where they do better, ie without the wind. So: nice stylish, comfortable gloves, just not designed for really cold riding. Submitted on  07 February 2021  by  Slim

Top gloves

I've always suffered cold hands and since I've started to use the Espresso Gloves, that weakness improved substantially. With 5˚C my hands become sweat and in the climbs I've often have to take it out. With full rain conditions it resists the water for at least for 2h never getting my hands soaked nor frozen. Definitely worth the investment. Submitted on  26 January 2021  by  Ricardo Scheidecker

Comfort and warmth without the bulk

Glad I picked these up this year. They provide the perfect comfort level for that 25-35F day. I was warm without sweating. The glove provides warmth, but without the bulk of some other colder weather gloves, and if it warms up a bit, undoing the zipper gives a bit of ventilation around the wrist. Well designed for cold weather

I have used these gloves 3 times, twice on the road and once fatbiking. The weather was between 24 and 35 F on the three rides. I was out between 2 to 3.5 hours per ride. The gloves were warm and very easy to shift and brake. I like the zippered back, makes getting them off when your hands are wet with sweat very easy. They are wind proof. I have not used them in the wet yet. Worth the investment. Submitted on  02 January 2021  by  Rick

Misleading Temp Rating

This holiday season, I purchased the Espresso glove to enjoy the trails on mild winter days. I chose the Espresso for its claim to withstand sub-freezing temperatures. While I tend to avoid riding on days below 35 degrees Fahrenheit, I have found that the glove has difficulty retaining heat and blocking wind at temperatures near 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I have since resorted to wearing surgical gloves under the Espresso to retain heat but have found negligible improvements when doing so. Would not recommend this glove for cold conditions.
