When the challenge is distance rather than speed, this jacket brings warmth and comfort with styling that looks right both on the bike and at the food stop. We're doing more and more long adventure rides. Sometimes that means rides with major elevation changes. Or riding through the cold of night and the heat of the day. Or multiday bikepacking rides. This jacket shines in those situations because it provides a lot of insulation and warmth when you need it, but it packs down small in your seat bag when you don't need it. The outer layer is a fabric you've seen on some high-end down jackets from some big brands. We like it because it's so light yet it keeps the wind out. Then on the inside, Polartec® Alpha® Direct is the lightest, most packable, and highest-wicking insulation available. It's warm like a synthetic down but doesn't require an inner layer that would reduce breathability and add weight. For your next Unlimited adventure, just stick this jacket and a GORE-TEX Idro Jacket in your bag and you're ready for anything.

warm, super easy, to stow in my hip-pack.

I bought the men's jacket in S to get extra length in the body vs. the shorter fitting women's style. It's tight on my hips, but it is a men's jacket so that's understandable--most importantly it gives me the warmth and extra length over my back, great with just a base layer and/or a shirt underneath.

Perfect jacket for subfreezing temperatures

25/01/2024

Our entire men's team has purchased this jacket as it is perfect for Fall/Winter Northeastern weather. The copy for this jacket is spot on and the Polartec fleece is so cozy that I find it is actually too warm for temperatures above 40F degrees, but it's my go-to for staying warm in the 30Fs, 20Fs, and colder. It's shocking how such a thin jacket is so warm! It's easily layered on top a short-sleeved skinsuit or jersey, long sleeved baselayers, or anything warmer if needed. It packs down super small and is perfect for traveling. It has fantastic cuffs and decent storage via the two back pockets, though the back pockets are quite big so I keep things like a pouch or phone in tighter pockets in my layers under the jacket. That being said, the pockets are great for stashing layers, gloves, and fuel! The front pocket is also a great addition though the zipper can be hard to open while wearing bulkier gloves. I usually wear a size Small Castelli jersey and purchased a size Small, but could have likely purchased an XS as it does have a little bit of room and the shoulders ripple in harsh wind. I don't mind the slightly looser fit as I wear it for warmth, not for aerodynamics. All around, this is a five-star versatile piece of kit.

Incredible Performance

15/11/2023

Amazing jacket everyone in the group commented on how great it looked . I have worn it twice once in 10 degrees with a light base layer and it was not too hot with the zip open to
My chest. The second time it was 2 degrees and with a mid long sleeve base it was perfect. The same warmth as a base layer plus a perfetto long sleeve plus a perfetto vest. But no weight at all. So good. size down for road fit .
