MAIN FEATURES

When searching for winter cycling gloves, people tend to look for a variety of attributes. Here are some common attributes you might consider when choosing our winter cycling gloves.
Long hours on a bike can lead to discomfort and fatigue in your hands. Cycling gloves often have cushioning or gel padding in the palm area to absorb shock and reduce pressure on your hands. This can help prevent numbness and discomfort during a ride. Reduced seam technology is another factor that makes our gloves so comfortable.
Castelli gloves are designed to provide an excellent grip on the handlebars and maintain control over your bike. They often feature silicone areas on the palms. This is especially important in wet or sweaty conditions when it's easy for your hands to slip, potentially leading to loss of control.
Our cycling gloves wick away sweat and moisture from your hands, helping to keep them dry and comfortable. Dry hands are less likely to develop blisters, which can be painful and affect your ability to grip the handlebars.
It is a fundamental attribute when it comes to choosing the right gloves for various weather conditions. Our insulated winter gloves are designed to provide warmth and protect the hands in cold conditions.
In addition to temperature, our winter cycling gloves are made with advanced fabrics and technologies that provide protection from the wind and rain, helping you stay warm, dry, and comfortable in adverse weather conditions.
Our cycling gloves prioritize a snug, contoured fit to minimize any excess material that could cause discomfort or interfere with your grip. Their construction, featuring stretch wrist inserts or YKK® water-repellent zippers, allows for easy on and off.
Castelli cycling gloves have built-in vibration-dampening features, such as Castelli Damping System (CDS) technology, to reduce the impact of road vibrations on your hands and wrists, as well as to reduce pressure on key contact points, like the palms of the hands. This helps to improve comfort during long rides.
Castelli cycling gloves provide protection for your hands in case of a fall or accident. They typically have padding and reinforcement in key areas to reduce the risk of abrasions and cuts in the event of a crash.
Some of our gloves are equipped with a sensitive touchscreen function located at the fingertips, which allows you to use your mobile phone freely without having to take off your gloves in cold outdoor conditions. This technology is implemented in the gloves of the Perfetto Collection, in the Diluvio One Glove, in the Spettacolo RoS Glove and in the Entrata Thermal Glove.
Our gloves are known for their stylish design, making them popular among cyclists looking for both comfort and performance as well as aesthetics. You can find some models in different colors, which makes it possible to match them with the rest of your kit.
It's important to note that the specific features may vary according to different disciplines. As with any cycling gear, it's essential to choose gloves that match your riding style and personal preferences. Always make sure to try on different models and sizes to find the best fit and comfort for your hands.

WHICH ARE OUR WINTER CYCLING GLOVES?

When we consider our winter cycling gloves, we can divide them into 3 different groups depending on the temperature they are designed for.
glove_mild_desk.jpg
The first group includes lighter gloves for mild conditions, such as our Perfetto Light Glove, our Tutto Nano Glove, our Lightness 2 Glove and our CW 6.1 Unlimited Glove for gravel and MTB.
The second, or largest, group includes gloves for cool conditions and temperature slightly above freezing. The Perfetto RoS Glove for men and that one for women, the Spettacolo RoS Glove for men and that one for women, the Mortirolo Glove, the Entrata Thermal Glove and the Diluvio C Glove are all part of this group.

The third and final group includes gloves for the coldest conditions and for temperatures even below zero. We’re talking about the Perfetto Max Glove, the Espresso GT Glove and our warmest Estremo Glove.

TECHNOLOGIES AND MATERIALS

We at Castelli use a variety of advanced materials and technologies to create our gloves. These are chosen to provide a balance of comfort, protection, durability and grip. The technologies used are essentially four: GORE-TEX®, Rain or Shine (RoS), PrimaLoft® and our Castelli Damping System (CDS).
gore-tex infinium
GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric is windproof, water resistant and highly breathable. You can find it in the Perfetto family of gloves, in the Estremo Glove and in the Mortirolo Glove. The Espresso GT Glove includes a GORE-TEX® waterproof membrane, GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™.
Rain or Shine (RoS) is the technology designed for both dry and wet conditions. Garments with this technology are water resistant, light and breathable at the same time. It is present in the Perfetto family of gloves and in the Spettacolo RoS Glove.
PrimaLoft® Gold insulation keeps your hands warm on almost all your rides. It features the Espresso GT Glove, the Spettacolo RoS Glove and the Entrata Thermal Glove.
Most of our gloves use the Castelli Damping System (CDS), designed and engineered to address a common problem many riders suffer from: discomfort and occasional numbness in the hands associated with extended periods of time gripping the handlebar. We carefully mapped key parts of the hand in order to create optimal protection from steady road vibrations and provide outstanding control and comfort.

GRAVEL/MTB GLOVES

In addition to the gloves mentioned so far which are mainly used on the road, we have designed a specific glove for gravel/MTB. We are talking about the CW 6.1 Unlimited Glove, a glove that is part of our Unlimited Collection initially conceived for cyclocross. Compared to others, it focuses more on grip and comfort with its silicone grip on palm and a secure Velcro closure.

PRODUCT CARE

How can you clean winter gloves with membrane fabrics?
Gloves with a wind membrane may be adversely affected by the usual care process. Here are the key steps for safe washing that does not compromise the properties of the membrane:

1. Always read the care label before washing your gloves.
2. Close the Velcro wrist straps or zippers.
3. Hand or machine wash on a lukewarm permanent press cycle (max. 30°C / 86°F)
4. Use a small amount of liquid detergent, not powder detergents or any products that contain fabric softeners, conditioners, stain removers or bleach as they will affect garment performance.
5. Do not use a fabric softener! This can destroy wicking and water-repellent treatments.
6. Squeeze excess water from the gloves, starting at the fingertips and moving to the wrists; do not twist the gloves.
7. Drip-dry the gloves with the fingers facing upward.
