KONA 2026

Castelli athletes made their move

The Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, once again delivered an unforgettable test. Under demanding Hawaiian conditions, the world’s best triathletes faced the unique challenge that makes Kona one of the most legendary venues in endurance sport.

For Castelli, Laura Philipp led the charge with a spectacular race. Building on her 2024 world title and a career defined by top-tier consistency, Laura put together a brilliant comeback on the Big Island to secure a thrilling second-place finish. This monumental performance also crowned her the overall champion of the 2026 Ironman Pro Series, a hard-won reward for a flawless season of world-class racing.

Matthew Marquardt delivered a career-defining performance on the men's side, combining immense bike strength with a composed marathon to claim an outstanding third place. Emerging from the swim in the leading pack, Matthew took control during the bike leg, driving the pace at the front to showcase his elite power. Even a mid-race time penalty couldn't derail his momentum; as the brutal Hawaiian heat began to break the field, he fought his way back onto the podium in heroic fashion.

The weekend was equally meaningful for Frederic Funk and Paula Findlay, who both celebrated their highly anticipated World Championship debuts on the Big Island.
Kona 2026 once again proved why this race holds such a unique place in triathlon history, writing a memorable new chapter for the Castelli racing family.
