HOW COME NO ONE EVER MADE A BETTER GABBA?
In 2010 Castelli introduced the Gabba to the pros and changed the way pros race in the rain. And cold. And ride in training. Every other performance cyclist soon saw the need for a Gabba in his or her wardrobe.

We've made some minor updates along the way, but for the fourth-generation Gabba we started with a clean slate to make a significant upgrade. That involved moving it to water resistance, which meant developing a new exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabric. We made the front-facing fabric warmer with a light brushing, while the rear-facing fabrics are lighter yet more water repellent than the previous Gabba.

We made it better in the rain through seam sealing on the shoulders and a covered zipper. Based on Team Ineos testing we figured it's better to have two pockets that are easier to access with gloved hands, though we provide an internal sleeve to keep your pump or other items from moving around.
It's not easy to make a better Gabba. We'll keep trying.

WHAT IT IS
This is the original jacket/jersey that started an entire new product class: the Gabba. It's a water-resistant short-sleeve jacket that's equally ideal for dry conditions. Made to be worn with our Nano Flex arm warmers, it allows you to keep your core warm without overheating.

Uso la Gabba da molti anni, sin dalla prima versione. E' un prodotto che crea "dipendenza" nell'uso. Penso che la Castelli Gabba, come la guarnitura Compact e semi Compact, abbia rivoluzionato concretamente il mondo del ciclismo. La Castelli merita un Oscar. Saluti ciclistici. Gabba Ros vs. Original Gabba

I have been riding on the road in the new Gabba Ros for a few weeks now in the cold dry air of Colorado, where I do most of my training. Overall, I have been very impressed with the jacket, particularly in the area of wind-proofing. I have owned the original Gabba since I began riding a few years ago, and it has been my go to for anything cold, wet, or windy. This being the case, I was a little skeptical before trying out the new piece of kit, but I have been thoroughly impressed with it. I haven't been out in the wet yet, but have ridden in some legitimate cold and windy circumstances. As far as cold goes, in temperatures around 30-45 F this jacket shines. I have worn my older Gabba in colder conditions, and do like it better due to the zip attached sleeves that were not brought back in this generation. Recently, I went on a ride in some of the most gnarly conditions I have ever been in, with crosswind gusts up to 50mph and temperatures of around 40 F, and this jacket performed amazingly with only a set of Castelli arm warmers as other upper body protection. Four hours of these conditions with no indoor stops, and I was at a perfect internal temperature across a range of effort levels. Overall, I would recommend this jacket to anyone passionate about having a do-all jacket capable of tackling extreme riding conditions at a relatively light weight.
