Sleeves are too narrow

First of all, Castelli states there is single chest opening, it is not true -- there are two of them. I wanted this jacket badly, material selection is top-notch, it has chest openings, rather light panels under armpits, I selected the correct size and... the jacket is too tight as it comes to armpit-shoulder distance. Not too small by entire size, simply a tad too small to be perfectly comfortable. I could live with it, however I cannot live with sleeves -- around zippers there are 4 layers (outer, inner, zipper itself, and the protective under layer). This plus grabby material on the inside made super difficult for me event to pass an elbow through. When I managed zippers are way too tight around my biceps. Oh boy. In retrospect I wish Castelli made not zip-off sleeves, but zippers along sleeves (around wrist). Pity. Inviata il  10 marzo 2021  da  macias

Converted by the Convertible

Need a jacket for the shoulder seasons? This jacket has you covered. Need a warm jersey for the days that it’s just too warm to hide your arms in a jacket but too cold to use your summer jersey? This jacket has you covered. What about those days when the ride starts cold but gets progressively warmer? This jacket has you covered! The thing I love most about this jacket is the versatility that it gives me to ride in so many different conditions. I’m not afraid to take it out in a bit of rain or some chilly wind. The RoS (Rain or Shine) tech they have in it makes it ideal to ride in almost any weather if you have the right layers to go with it. I found that for me, this jacket was ideal with just a baselayer in the 45-55° range with the sleeves on. I could probably wear it up to maybe 60-65° if I needed to without the sleeves, although it hasn’t been warm enough to try that yet. I personally got the Savile Blue and went up to an XL for sizing. I’m about 5’9 and 175 lbs. I prefer my jackets to not be skin tight like my summer jerseys, but I could probably have fit an L just fine on this one. I like the XL for myself though. It feels like the right size. The pockets on this jacket are well sized and allow for you to carry any other cold weather gear you might need for your rides to allow you to ride longer in various kinds of weather. The jacket looks super slick and overall is probably the jacket I reach for most frequently these days. I like that Castelli has built in subtle reflective components to the jacket without making it look or feel like a traffic sign. In short… you feel fast wearing this jacket. RoS Top! Kundenserivce Flop

Great piece of kit for chilly rides

When you forget that you are wearing something, it means that it does the job ! Used it between 4 and 9 degrees with a merino long sleeves underneath : not too cold, not too hot, and a great windblocker. Got a size large (181 cm / 77kg) and been really happy with the fit. It's an expensive jacket, but you won't regret the investment, worth every cent. Inviata il  12 novembre 2020  da  David

Great shoulder season kit

I'm 5'10", 165lbs, and a Large fits perfectly on me. So far I've only worn thin baselayers/summer jerseys beneath it, but I could probably fit a thin fleece under it when it gets truly cold outside. So far, this jacket performs exactly as advertised—I rode about an hour in a steady drizzle with the temperature around 46'F and stayed perfectly dry and warm with only a summer jersey beneath. For me this jacket is too warm (even with sleeves off/vents open/half-zipped) when the temperature is above 55', but I do tend to run hot. On a fast 100mi ride in 44-50 degree weather, I wished I'd brought the sleeves along whenever the sun wasn't out, but overall did not get "cold". Expensive piece of kit, but I like it enough I'm looking at the ROS tights to go with it.

This Jacket Really Works in the Rain

I just rode for 2 1/2 hours in a steady rain, temperature in the 40s. I wore this jacket with just a thin, wicking undershirt (there isn't room for much more than that). The jacket kept me warm and dry throughout the ride, although had I stopped for long I'm sure I would have gotten cold. Most astonishing is that at the end of the ride, my undershirt was largely dry. How this is possible I don't know, between constant rain on the outside and sweat on the inside, but to me this is the best road bike clothing purchase I've made in a long time. (I've had this same experience now on multiple occasions, so I don't consider it a fluke.)
