STAY WARM, BE SEEN
This is the workhorse jacket in the Castelli winter lineup. We use our warmest GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fleece-lined fabric on front and back to keep the wind out and the heat in. There are thermal side panels to let excess moisture escape. We keep the lines clean and don't add anything superfluous – unless you think being seen is superfluous. There are reflective panels on the front and back and both sleeves, which we've designed in a diagonal graphic to make sure you get noticed. Functional details are all there, as you expect from Castelli: easy-slidingYKK® Vislon® zipper, three big pockets for storage and a contoured neckline to seal out drafts.
This jacket is great, fashionable, and works perfectly for keeping warm on my winter commute/recreation rides. So far I've used the jacket for the rated temperatures but I'm sure it'll keep me warm down to even low 20F/high 10F with the great windproofing and insulation.
I bought the black out version which is slick and subtle. The only complaints I'd have for the jacket are that the zipper wind guards for some reason start only about half a foot from the collar, rather than running the entire length of the jacket, and the zipper pocket on the rear of the jersey is so shallow that I'm not sure what I'm expected to carry in it. Perhaps keys or a wallet, I suppose? Maybe CO2 cartridges? The lack of chest pocket up front may be a downside for some people as well, but I don't find myself missing one too much.
Otherwise, you can't go wrong with Castelli when it comes to quality. A lot of their branding can be garish, but they knocked it out of the park with the stylish design for this jacket.
And for anyone wondering sizing, I am 5'9"/1.75m and 150lbs/68kg and medium fits me perfectly. I normally wear small in everything but Castelli I'd recommend sizing up if possible.
