Different riding conditions require different solutions. Castelli combines advanced fabrics, membranes, insulation systems, and proprietary technologies according to a specific purpose, from managing airflow during high-intensity riding to providing warmth and protection in cold and wet conditions.
WEATHER PROTECTION & BREATHABILITY
POLARTEC® AIRCORE™
Polartec® AirCore™ uses an electrospun, air-permeable membrane to combine wind and light-rain protection with high breathability and stretch.
Castelli uses different AirCore™ constructions depending on the level of insulation and protection required.
150 G AIRCORE™
The lightest AirCore™ construction in the current range. It is designed to provide wind and light-rain protection with minimal insulation and very high breathability, making it particularly suited to performance-focused riding.
219 G AIRCORE™
A more insulated AirCore™ construction developed for cooler conditions, while retaining the breathability, stretch, and weather protection of the membrane technology.
298 G AIRCORE™
The warmest AirCore™ construction currently highlighted in the catalog, combining the membrane with a micro-grid fleece inner face for additional insulation.
CASTELLI RISTRETTO
Castelli Ristretto is developed around controlled air permeability.
Instead of completely blocking airflow, the fabric allows a calibrated amount of air to enter, helping heat and moisture escape during high-intensity riding. This creates a different approach to weather protection, particularly for riders generating significant body heat in cool conditions.
Castelli developed the fabric in partnership with ITTTAI®, combining stretch, breathability, and water protection through advanced membrane and lamination technology.
WATERPROOF PERFORMANCE
NANO FLEX EVO
Nano Flex Evo is designed for riding in cold and wet conditions, combining increased water resistance with stretch and mobility.
Rather than functioning simply as a rigid waterproof barrier, the technology is intended to maintain the flexibility required for close-fitting cycling garments and warmers.
GABBA R WATERPROOF TECHNOLOGY
Gabba R uses a Castelli-exclusive fabric developed with ITTTAI® around an external microporous electro-spun hydrophilic polyurethane membrane.
Placing the membrane on the outside avoids the need for an external textile layer that can retain moisture. The 125 g/m² fabric is highly stretchable, fully waterproof, and designed to maintain breathability while keeping weight low.
The polyurethane membrane is formulated to be more hydrophobic than standard polyurethane, while taped seams and a waterproof zipper complete the waterproof construction.
INSULATION & COLD-WEATHER PERFORMANCE
POLARTEC® ALPHA™
Polartec® Alpha™ is used as a lightweight insulating inner layer in selected cold-weather garments.
In the Alpha 150 Jacket, it works together with the AirCore™ outer shell to add significant insulation while maintaining low weight and moisture management.
THERMOFLEX
Thermoflex is Castelli’s thermal fleece fabric designed around warmth, stretch, and comfort.
Its soft and flexible construction makes it particularly suitable for tights and other garments where insulation needs to work together with freedom of movement.
